Tom Lindstr¿m
Hello, my name is Tom Lindstr¿m. I am professor at the Centre of Mathematics for Applications (CMA)
and the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oslo. My phone number is (+47) 22
85 58 96, and you may e-mail me by clicking here mailto:lindstro@math.uio.no. If you want
to use good old-fashioned paper mail, my address is: Tom Lindstr¿m, Department
of Mathematics, University of Oslo, PO Box 1053 Blindern, N-0316 Oslo, Norway.
For more information about me, see my CV and my list of publications.
Teaching
In the fall 2009, I am teaching MAT1120 Line¾r algebra.
Research
My main research interests are nonstandard analysis and
probability. Two relatively recent papers on nonstandard probability theory are "Hyperfinite LŽvy Processes" (there is a mistake in section 5 of the published version of this paper which is corrected in the present version - see also F.S. Herzberg and T. Lindstr¿m "Corrigendum and addendum to Hyperfinite LŽvy Processes" for another way to fix the mistake),
and "Nonlinear
Stochastic Integrals for Hyperfinite LŽvy Processes". The paper "A weighted random walk approximation to fractional Brownian motion" is standard.
