Direction unifier

LDraw file and instructions. (Inlcudes six GIF images, 15Kb in total.)

The device I have dubbed the direction unifier has one input axle (the middle, upper one) and one output axle (either of the lower ones; pick one). Turning the input axle in either direction yields the same movement in the output axle, but in one direction only.

The device can easily be modified to yield the output in different speeds, depending on the input axle direction.

Applications

• A railway cart. Pushing the boom either way moves the cart forward. (Includes 15 GIF images, 128Kb in total.)
• A car that can be steered around using only one motor.
