FIRST CLASS RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY.

The University of Oslo's Department of Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics Division deals with theoretical, numerical and experimental fluid mechanics. We are a leading center for Norwegian research and graduate training for water waves and fluid mechanics problems. With the help of our partners and government, we strive to have the best available technology to conduct our research. Our interests are in several fields that deal with fluid mechanics phenomena, such as:

  • Experimental Fluid Mechanics; PIV, PTV, Hotfilm

  • Marine hydrodynamics

  • Nonlinear surface waves

  • Tsunami - solitary waves

  • Internal waves

  • Multiphase flow

  • Vortex induced vibrations (VIV)

  • Turbulent fluid flow

  • Biomedical flow
